AFSC urges peace supporters to organize events in their hometowns on or soon after New Years Day, the day after the 3,000th U.S. military death in Iraq.
Together, we'll mourn all the lives lost in this war and call for the troops to come home.
Icasualties reports 3000 U.S. troop deaths in Iraq (updated hourly). Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis [also] have died in this war.

Grandmothers Against the War hold a weekly vigil at this location every Wednesday afternoon. The day after the count reaches 3,000 we will vigil there regardless of whether it is a Wednesday or not. Time: 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. All welcome -- not just grandmothers. Veterans for Peace vigil with the grannies regularly, for instance.
Skip a bowl game, get on the streets. And support the troops by bringing them home as soon as possible.
