Dear Hillary,
I've defended you in five or so consecutive diaries against unfair attacks over your decision not to apologize for your four-and-a-half year ago vote on the Iraq war. So I hope you'll understand that I'm not coming at you now with an (unfortunately typical here) anti-Hillary fixation.
However, this time kos is right. The following statement, recorded live on video (see minute 31), is at best a mistake and you need to correct it:
I just want to underscore a point: some people may be running who will tell you that we don’t face a real threat from terrorism. I am not one of those. I think we do. I think we have serious enemies who wish to do us serious harm. [What] I object to is the way we have gone after them.
more . . .
It's very difficult to interpret the above (from a campaign stop in South Carolina) as anything other than a 'weak on terror' sideswipe at other Democratic Party candidates for President. In fact, and I don't even need to write this it's so obvious, no candidate for President in either of the major parties thinks that we "don't face a real threat from terrorism."
I'm sure you'll agree, looking at the words, that you made a mistake. And I hope you'll then quickly apologize for and correct the misstatement. Who knows, it might be a bonus for you, Hillary, at least here at dailykos. Saying "I made a mistake" will squelch the (evidence-free) concerns of the (unfortunately) many here who think you are 'like Bush' and incapable of admitting mistakes.
